Tuesday, July 6, 1915 11h at night
Things seem to be slowly improving.
In the morning, Egon was allowed to come home from 11–1h [above: • B],
and in the afternoon he was free from 6 to 9h [below: • B].
But in spite of all this – just away from here! – Today
I felt so despondent – I will never forget
this afternoon – it was too dreadful –
despair came over me more than ever
before. – If I didn’t love Egon more than anything else
in the
world, – I would have run away – but I couldn’t,
not for anything in the world – I will persevere,
come what may.
