This whole military thing is too much for Egon –
he certainly won’t be able to stand it – he feels so
weak – if he gets sick – he will be superarbitrated13
– but if he is sick he will suffer – so it one
is as bad as the other.
He was with me again today from 6 to 7h30 – my
dear, sweet fellow – we loved each other –
the whole time – as physically close as possible – • B.
If only he could get away from that barn a little longer
and was allowed to sleep at home – the exertions would,
with good will, be more bearable.
But to get up at 4h, spend the entire morning and the afternoon
doing drills, with just an hour and a half free in the evening,
this is too much for someone like Egon.
