[Translation:]
6th August 1914.
Dear Dr. Hora,
in these awful times I take the liberty of asking you whether you would be inclined to help me very much by buying or enticing your acquaintances to buy some of my drawings; – I would sell the drawings at a greatly reduced price and presume that you are in a position that might allow you to do something for me, should you be willing. – I have no savings left. – Please write to me at once, if you will be so kind, for I am all empty: – I hope you have not been drafted, too. – I have the drawings ready for selection at my studio.
Best regards,
Egon Schiele
