On January 3, 1914, the Bund Österreichischer Künstler invited Egon Schiele to participate in the Seconda Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte della Secessione in Rome, Schiele was represented with four colored drawings. The rooms dedicated to Austrian artists were designed by architect Dagobert Peche; also on display were works by: Oskar Laske, Broncia Koller-Pinell, Carl Moll, Irma von Duczynska, Bertold Löffler, Anton Faistauer, Gustav Klimt, Emil Orlik, Felix Albrecht Harta, Ferdinand Andri, among others.
